I agree, the A.S. is his Grandest of Grand Complications
I firmly believe this was Mr Journe simply showing the world exactly what he was able to create in the one watch.
That said, the Sonnerie for me is "more" Journe, and I prefer its simplicity of wind and wear, as well as its better dimensions and the fact its one complication is the pinnacle of watch making. It's a much easier daily wear, if that's such a thing
I also am appreciating the larger and easier to read "classic" right hand side time dials more and more these days, as you find on the Sonnerie and Optimum in particular.
The good news is though that if you want an A.S. you have plenty of time to start saving your pennies as it's likely to be around for the next decade
