This is my understanding:
FPJ makes a watch 001—they keep it aside—and the first thousand become watch with no leading number. Then is series 2 - watches 1001 to 1999, then series 3 - watches 2001 to 2999 and so on. For example: if your watch is 2-777, it should be the 1775th made (no number 000-1000-). Hope this helps.
