A5 is sometimes too fatty, and I sometimes prefer a lower grade. I have to really be "in the mood" for an A5 grade steak.
So I know what you mean! And I suggest you try a lower grade that's got less fat.

One day in February 1990, I had maybe $5 in my wallet . . .
. . . and an appetite. The local McDonalds had a special on Big Macs so I ordered two, fries, and a Coke. After wolfing that meal down I was so disgusted with myself I became a pescatarian. Literally overnight. And haven't looked back since.

Yes, I can also mix and match and like you said, in the mood.
Just like I used to be able to handle rib-eye, I now prefers New York. Regardless, it’s a good deal so once a year is ok. Thanks!
Agree on it being overly fatty
Love it, yet it can get to be a bit much at times. Saw the Costco special and debated, yet that's a large qty for just the wife and i. Wonder how it would dry age.
