+1! I couldn't agree more Mech.
Too many people think if you are into watches then you should have Patek, AP or any of high-end brands as most associate money with the hobby.
Real watch lovers don't really care much about prestige, he could be buying a n Omega Seamaster after purchasing a Patek 5970G or 5070P, just simply because he likes the watch. Many friends I talk to always say to me, "Why wear an unknown brand to many? I'd rather be seen by others wearing a Rolex or Cartier rather than a Grand SEIKO?" (They know I wear GS and were shocked after I told them it might cost as much as a Rolex). I just tell them, "Do you wear a watch for others to see or for your enjoyment?" I absolutely go for the latter.

In January last year I wrote a post asking " if China would meet the market expectations of the top makers". My conclusion at that time was .... "I think not" ....a lot of potential.... but a big culture change was needed... along with a better crime rate...
