Horological Meandering

Two very original ways of telling time , both in a 36 mm yellow gold case ... Some here may love both almost equally and will probably have a hard time choosing: Vacheron Constantin Mercator in yellow gold ref. 43050 with a solid gold dial representing a ...  

...but I also like the Millenary version that shows the time arc at 3 o'clock... ...

whereas the Mercator is more uniformly classic. I think I would personally choose neither and stick to the VC Ultra-Thin 1955.

Neither for me: VC Ultra-Thin 1955 would make me happier.

Neither the Mercator nor the Star Wheel appeal to me as much as the UT 1955.

These two automatic movements do nothing for me. And these two ways of telling time are ingenious and admirable, but I prefer something simpler on the wrist.

I've always loved that display. Arnold & Son also did a neat variant on this (The Golden Wheel, I think) some years ago. I find it captivating.
