Horological Meandering

Ask a farmer

what a beautiful landscape is and he will show you a productive field…

In horology this equated to the best time keepers and those did not tend to be bad looking either. Among the under 30mm I would think of the 30T2Rg's, the Zenith 135's, the Longines 30L's, the Peseux 260's of this world, to name but a few. As far as chronographs are concerned I have a weakness for 13ZN's and 30CH's. As Steve G so eloquently wrote, with the above we are not talking about see-through cases/ show-for-the-gallery type of watches like most of the contemporary pieces, we are talking of watches that were made in tempore non suspecto, at a time when the finish and the beauty of a movement had more to do with function than aesthetics.
