Horological Meandering

Drop dead gorgeous!

The 1860 is just such a nice watch.  Before 2023, I was trying to find one in any of the 18K gold variants (yellow, white, or rose) in excellent condition, complete, from someone I knew and trusted.  Wasn't successful.

You really have a wonderful wonderful timepiece.  Enjoy it to the max!

The Micro rotor story really started at Piaget in the 1960s.  The Universal Geneva and other micro rotors from the 1950s never really met any commercial success.  Plus, those companies are almost defunct now.  Only Piaget and Patek Philippe seem to exist still.  It's important to note, the Piaget movement in the 1960s had a lot of problems.  Okay, that's being generous, from what I'm told by some watch movement designers is that it didn't work very well at all.  It wasn't a commercial success neither.  The Patek Philippe 240 caliber that came out in 1977 didn't work very well neither, but they did get it to work eventually.
