Horological Meandering

I mean, that's somewhat true.

Now, like I said, I didn't find marks like on the Patek on my 1315. Perhaps I need even more magnification (but I was using about 7x). However, I'll maintain that anglage can still be performed by machine and often is. Not the great, "true" anglage (i.e., GF, LF, Dufour, FB, etc.) but the more "standard" fare, even though we're talking high echelons of manufactures here anyway. Let me demonstrate with Breguet--two different versions of the same section of the same movement:

By hand on left; CNC on right. The differences are staggering.

An example similar to Patek Philippe's effort in the thread is perhaps the Code 11.59's Calibre 4302 from The Naked Watchmaker:

From the description, I read this was with diamond-tipped milling tools. You're right about Patek's methodology for sure, but I don't know that this is as great as it could be, especially for the Seal. I guess I'm just airing my disappointment more than anything.
