Glashutte: Worth Visiting?
I come to WPS today asking for some advice.
I will shortly be embarking on my first ever trip to Germany. The primary reason for my visit is a big guitar competition/festival, which will occupy the first week of my stay. However, I will then have about a week to see some sights. Being a watch enthusiast, Glashutte seems like a good place to visit. Still, I have some reservations. Namely, what can an ordinary person like me actually see when visiting Glashutte? Are tours of the actual manufactories of Lange, Moritz Grossmann, GO, etc available? Or does one need to be a well known, well connected collector to have that kind of access? I know there is a museum of Saxon watchmaking in Glashutte, but that alone is insufficient incentive for me to travel all the way across the country.
I am sure some of you have been to Glashutte before. Perhaps some of you have even had some type of tour of the manufactories. I'd like to hear what y'all have to say on the matter.
Thanks in advance for your advice!
