Glashütte Original for the win
Uff, I can't believe I'm Team Original, but there we are. I own four Langes and adore them. I know as much about the brand as any serious hobbyist. Lange & Söhne is who they are, and it's phenomenal... but it's just not that creative. Can you imagine the kind of Meltdown the watch world would have if ALS finally did some Open Work stuff like GO is doing with its PanoInverse series? Or, not withstanding the Datograph, I think the most interesting chronograph ever developed in Germany is actually the PanoRetroGraph from GO, featuring a countdown timer. Also, GO's Chronometer Tourbillon is an absolute beast. Unfortunately I consider the company, along with Breguet and Blancpain, to be hostages akin to the Baltic States were in the greater Soviet Union that is the Swatch Group. If someone let them off the leash they could remarkable work.
As far as Moritz Grossmann goes, I don't really get it. There is great skill there, and yet they're trying to out-bore everyone else. I own a Benu Date, but it has a beautiful dial by Kari Voutilainen, otherwise these watches would not hold my attention. It's wonderful to wind though.

This just happened yesterday so it's fresh news. I never left, still semi-retired...I'm a man of my words, my incoming trend shows a steady decline from double digits in 2018-2023, to 5 in 2024 and 2 so far in 2025. Good to know your choices. Cheers!

A lot of us had our fair share of unpleasant experiences with the brand you mentioned. I really do like L&H movement looks but just not a huge fan of 3 lugs case design. Good thing the decision is on us to support whoever we want. Thanks sham1.

you can specify any Lang & Heyne watch with a two lug design if you are not keen on the three lug design.
L&H informed me that this isn't possible anymore...

I have ALS and GO watches and would certainly not mind owning a M.G. ALS has lost some of my favors over the last years due to their business behaviour and distribution model. I would therefore always "go with GO" !!

I've been to Lange's factory three times. And I haven't been to G.O. nor to Grossman. Seeing all those wire spark erosion machines - like fourteen or seventeen of them - a tremendous amount for such a small factory and not seeing a single stamping machine...

I just use the small seconds models of MG/ALS to compare. I agree with this Tremblage, MG wins.

I have seen photos of the movement of L&H and they are beautiful and stunning. I'm not a huge fan of a 3 lugs case but as sham1 mentioned above, it's an easy solution. The passion website is on my bookmark been watching it so I'm not ignoring this name
