H**tinky ? why not a Seven-Eleven watch? :-) ...
Hodinkee is nothing more than a well-managed business platform to make money by selling watches. And BTW a majority of the "info" sites in our hobby are similar.
There is no different between them and Bob's beside the mass of "journalism" they produce. Most of it are paid "reviews" . It has been loong time since I trusted anything they write (yea, I know, 2nd time in last few days with that trust issue

.
I have no issues buying a watch made with them if I like it, but don't bullshit me. I'll buy it because I like it, that's it. anything more than that is like adding topping to a melted ice-cream, a mess!
Having said that, a limited-edition watch in my book should have real added value, story or identity. not just a shade of dial from the never-ending Panton colors. it should be a limited that is easily characterized and nothing more like it. All these "limited" watches we see from H or others, are just another variant of existing watch and in few years' time no one will be able to tell it apart from yet one more variant of a serial production watch.
And no, the watch manufacture dont have to invest in making a special watch, just don't make a serial watch similar to it. the PAM195 in PVD and first logo dial was a great example.
