Generic advice but... 1. Sell the pieces that will leave you with either a core (could be one) or a small set of watches you simply like even in the scenario that horology is no longer a hobby. For me this would be say the Milgauss. This will purge a few ... 

Your suggestion 1 is in motion. I am wanting to thin my small to begin with collection down to maybe 7 or 8. Your suggestion 2 is good as well. Am watching from afar, seeing good buddies continuing to enjoy the addiction and being silently (well maybe not... 

My suggested remedy for severe Horofatigue is tough but simple.... 1. Sell your watches. Just keep 3 at a maximum (beater/casual/sports, business and dress). Condense to 2 or 1 if you desire. 2. Forget horology for 6 months to a year. Maybe even leave Pur...

Nice thoughts as usual, Echi. The watches are a reason to bring us together but PuristS has always been about community. It is the main reason that kept me coming back here. And we can be discouraged by the current watch offerings, but still enjoy discuss...

It has been off in Geneva for a routine service - its first after 8 years - which took 10 weeks. Unfortunately the watch is at the Hong Kong Boutique and I am not! Anyway, I will be getting it at the end of February, and I can't wait. I really miss it and...

Living in Mauritius has a lot of issues for horolofreaks ... There is only one line of shops selling omega and rolex... and that is it. No magazines, no fans, nobody to share my passion. I am very thankful there is PPro. So for me it is only when I travel...

I become a bit numb to tourbillon-this and repeater-that occasionally. However, this state is usually remedied with a reread of the Omega/NASA story or by looking at the Patek 5101, which for me embody much of what is great about watchmaking! Brandon

I can understand exactly how you feel. And every few months or so, when I tire of all the non stop complications inflation, I go back to watches of yesteryears. I also collect omega speedies from the 70s and 80s. Thks for sharing. Best, Horo
