Its really the marketing ploys that I think is the main cause. Although I succumb not to them, I guess it just sickens me for reasons I best not say to be respectful to others.

How about hanging out in TimeOut more? You can still be with Purist friends, but horology discussion is kept at the periphery. And you can then duck into the watch fora only when you feel like it. A

I become a bit numb to tourbillon-this and repeater-that occasionally. However, this state is usually remedied with a reread of the Omega/NASA story or by looking at the Patek 5101, which for me embody much of what is great about watchmaking! Brandon
