Horological Meandering

I know a high quality watch when I see one

The Monsieur Chanel watch has fine character and quality.

I prefer the dressier versions to the Superleggera revision, but the entire watch is excellent in all versions. I went out of my way to take a look at a rose gold example in 2017 when I saw one in the case of an upscale department store. It is a watch I'd look out for secondhand, because I'm sold on the watch, but the market isn't. The finishing isn't up to the standards of Romain Gauthier's Continuum, but Monsieur Chanel's dial and complication make it, overall, a more appealing package (in my opinion).

If I had the funds and one became available for the right price, I would not hesitate. That price is not $35,000, just my feel of the market.
