Horological Meandering

I think we do.....But....

I would not buy them....

My current thoughts on the hot watches of the last couple of years…..

  • PP Nautilus 5711. Looks OK but nothing special. I would be proud to wear one but not go out of my way to try and own one.
  • PP Aquanaut 5167. Looks OK but nothing special. I would be proud to wear one but not go out of my way to try and own one.
  • AP Royal Oak 15202.  Looks OK but nothing special. I would be proud to wear one but not go out of my way to try and own one.
  • VC Overseas 4500. Looks good, Would own a 48150 but not on my priority list.
  • Rolex Daytona. Had a 116500LN. Nice watch but decided to let someone else own it.
  • Rolex Sub 114060. Have one, no wrist time, safe queen, Quite a boring watch in retrospect.

What puts me off a lot of these watches is not the design itself. A watch is a watch is a watch and has a fascination in itself. It is the Trev’s, Kevs, and Dom’s who treat these fine articles like currency in a Tulip-mania world.

I’m sure a lot of people here have diametric views on this. This is a good thing because I’m not your competition.
