The PF is more my style (even if I prefer manual-winding) but it is more classic and conservative. The RG is more playful and extroverted. Best, Emmanuel

The RG dial is a mess.

The dial is significantly top heavy due to the hands being mounted closer to the top half of the dial. I searched “Romain Gauthier C” and in most press photos the time is set to 9:12 instead of the traditional 10:08 to “pull” the hands closer to the cente... 

but I think the canon pinion is exactly at the center of the dial. That said, the Parmigiani is more my style. I like the “less is more” aesthetic and the barley grain dial. Best, Emmanuel

While the PF is an eye pleaser it also feels quite boring to me. Never thought about getting one myself. I find the C a lot more edgy and interesting but I have gone back and forth on the dial layout. What I do know is that I am not a big fan of the brace...

The Gauthier just fails to move the needle at all for me. The dial on this particular PF is too minimalist. With Parmigiani, I'd look in the Toric line for a salmon-like dial. M4

Shame on them. I understand your preference for the RG, which is indeed more daring and sporty. I prefer the aesthetic of the PF, though (not taking into consideration what you say about the customer service). Best, Emmanuel

I remember you had all kinds of trouble with your Minute Rattrapante. To this day, it is the only issue I have heard of with a modern Parmigiani. For me, it was Montblanc. You would think the 1858 blue dial 100 piece edition is better than sliced bread, b...

Even if the Gauthier is more horologically impressive. The austerity of the Parmigiani dial, the shape of the hands, the bracelet geometry, the knurled platinum bezel, and the finishing on the microrotor all speak to me in a way that the kooky dial on the...  

I haven’t yet found an OF which fits my wrist properly, but maybe I should try on the new 37 mm someday. Best, Emmanuel

I'm a bit heavy on sports chronographs right now, and as I age am finding more interest in simpler, dressier pieces. I think adding the Lorige has punctuated my sports pieces, so I might dip into the Parmigiani pieces to go after something more special.

That movement is a good looking one.

I just enjoy that dial design a lot (though Jay's Open-worked is even Cooler!) and the view from the back is exciting to see as well.

The dial of the RG doesn’t feel balanced enough. And if I look longer at the RG I don’t like the position of the crown and I also prefer the bracelet of the PF. But in real life I would refuse both. For my personal taste there are better options out there...

If it would be possible I would take the vack from RG and everything else from PF.
