No matter the results. ...
Everyone is a winner!
1. The charity fund for sure!
2. The owners of these piece unique watches! (Many of them really got great value with the auction prices they paid)
3. The brands who designed, created and donated them... they all got good publicity regardless of the auction results and we all know these watch manufactures contributed to a noble cause (many of them have participated every 2 years for this charity).
Very happy to hear many less fortunate will benefit from this. These results are something for us Purists to celebrate together for!

a lot to do with the price the Patek ended up. Everyone anticipated the Patek top the charts. So naturally those who really wanted it knew they had to fork out a substantial amount of donation. I am not sure of the auction mode. (Open bid, close bid, mix ...

Yes Robin,you are right..the cause is noble and we should all cherish..but..
on your point that the brands all had good publicity........well.....ask Claret if he is happy with the result....I bet he would ve rather not being there.... Lets say that some managed to save their face...others..well fell flat on it...no matter the cau...

And agree with you when brands fall far below estimates. For me personally, I give all these brands credit for their generosity to support this auction and for several of these brands who didnt meet the low estimate, I learned alot more about their brand ...
