That's actually a curious habit we have in common, wanting to synchronize second and minute hands as accurately as possible...
Something I noticed over time though is that this appears to be done automatically by Patek watches (they catch up at most after a minute o two), while personally I have never noticed this, e.g., in a Rolex. That is, either I manually set up the two hands consistently or they'll remain out of sync. I believe I never asked Patek or a watchmaker, but it's hardly a coincidence that this seems to always happen with a Patek, consistently with their quality and level of attention to the smallest details.
I'd be curious to know if others ever noticed this with Patek or other brands (I also happen to have a Panerai at home right now, but it's a 292 with no minute markers, so it's impossible to do this exercise).
As for how I store my watches, I simply keep a very small number at home by rotation and the rest in banks in Italy; when I wear them, I normally take the time to set them accurately, including the date, etc.. Cheers
