there was another similar thread of trading a 5711 for 5070. I think now people are starting to realize “value”. However, if that’s my only Nautilus and now that’s it’s discontinued, I will be hesitant unless maybe I swap for another PP Grand complication...

I know I'm in the minority here but I'd do it in a heartbeat! If the PP was a 5070, maybe not. Still, follow your heart, not mine.

So to answer your question, yes I would miss the Nautilus, and this is really where my hesitation started. Perhaps that’s all I need to consider and beyond that I’m just over complicating things.

The nautilus is nice, but the Gronefeld is a real piece of art. Quite surprised that the most responses favor keeping the Patek, especially on the independents forum.

For the Patek. As shared in a previous post, you will always have chances to afford new timepieces in the future, but it’s harder to have that special moment of getting a more collectible watch with your own name on it at the Patek dealer. It’s something ... 

If that's the case, I agree that you need to be getting more for the trade. I think a 1941 with Kari dial should be priced in the 50-70K range depending on material, condition, and dial type. Regardless, I'd cash in on the nautilus hype and sell.

You raise a great question about the role of the Nautilus in the collection. I would say that yes, it is definitely the king of the sports watch pile. The conundrum you present is exactly why this is a difficult decision for me.

In a world where we strive for exclusivity, the Nautilus is more common. When I saw the Gronefeld , I was so impressed that I was very close to purge some of my watches for it .You can get the Patek back later on if you wish . So I’m all for the trade . ...  

Next, I’d assess monetary value, which is worth more. I’d also think about rarity. For me, I like what many do not have. Full disclosure here, I favor the Gronefeld and have one, but YOU must decide which one. Good luck with your decision!

the way Nautilus is moving in the market - almost beyond a blue-chip Fortune 10 share, just by value I wouldn’t trade it. Nothing personal, Strictly business 😜 Horologically speaking you have all the reasons to trade for a Gronefeld!

I myself Had the possibility few years ago to buy a 5726 at the AD and didn't do it. I did buy a Grönefeld, though, so my Overall choice would definitly be the Remontoire. The question of swapping both now is much more difficult. If you do like the 5726 a...

Something really special to me having the Remontoire on my wrist, it just seems perfect. The WG with the KV dial is absolutely stunning. I know it is a difficult decision for you but make your choice and don’t look back.
