I understand your frustration
I understand we are not suppose to discuss pricing here so I will try to be careful. What irritates my wife most is that about one week after the purchase, when we were at another AD, we were offered, without us even asking (and I didn't have the watch on me) a 15% discount off MSRP. It was subtly implied to us at where we bought the watch that these are "very rare" pieces and there will be no negotiations. That is entirely our fault for being too trusting.
