Insidiously, this brand has crept up on us

 

Many years ago, I was introduced to this brand by PURISTSPRO but never had a chance to see the watches because I resided in Asia. 

Then, I saw them for the first time in Baselworld. In fact, I could not get into their little booth because a bunch of PIAGET watchmakers and executives were incognito inside. smile

This was significant because the "home" trade show for PIAGET was the SIHH in Geneva.

"What are you doing here?", I asked.

"Oh, just looking....", they said.


I love the subtle sombre dial but fireworks at the back of the Georg.

One concern is the proprietary straps due to the unusual lugs. That makes for restricted choice of after-market straps.

I don't care myself as I do not mess with straps after-market but I'm sure some people do....

In my book, the Lang and Heyne Georg is an immensely elegant Gentleman ā€˜s watch with outstanding watchmaking substance. Classical for sure, but with just the right whimsical elements to make it a timepiece to be discovered and appreciated by connoisseurs....

the unusual lugs strengthen the character of the Georg and make it more handsome sleek

The movements made by Lange & Heyne are a feast for the eyes. Truly gorgeous. Dials are very pure too.

Even if Iā€™m not a chrono fan, I would go for the Albert today. This watch is incredibly beautiful. Only one restriction: its size (44mm) and, maybe, its price šŸ˜ Thank you for sharing with us these nice pictures dear Magnus. Credit: Lange & Heyne Best wish...  

He is definitely an atypical Saxony watchmaker

The shining bridges , the blue screws and hands, sandblasted plates; the finishing level is absolutely astoundingly, as you would expect by a german brand (even Nomos provides good quality). The design has its unique touch, classic but not outdated.

Voutilainen and RW Smith are at a different level altogether in terms of finishing, both on the dial and the movement. FP Journe is less exclusive than Lang & Heyne and I would rate Lang & Heyne at least on par if not better than FP Journe. What I persona...
