Otsuka Lotec No.5 KAI
Was able to get this new model by Otsuka Lotec.
The wandering hour carousel does recall timepieces by Urwerk, but on the wrist it feels very unique.
As with other models by Jiro Katayama, to me, the watch feels as though it was 'engineered' more than 'designed,' diluting the air of extravagance that is usually inherent in avant-garde or eccentric time displays.
The bezel-less boxed sapphire makes it look like some measuring instrument in a glass case.

When I first saw them I was going to have a friend in Japan buy one for me. Not sure why exactly I hesitated but since then he has seemed to become a darling of the watch world. Look forward to seeing more photos of this one.
