. . . but is it possible that the seconds hand is intentionally offset for purely mechanical reasons? After all, many pivoted tone-arms used for LP playback exhibit the same eccentricity. In the photo provided that exhibits the highest level of eccentricity, the circular counterweight end-carving is shifted in the opposite direction to the connecting shaft, and many tone-arms are similarly offset . . . cordially, Art
