Yes, the dimaond end stone is an aesthetic touch that Marco wanted to use as a nod to traditional high end German watchmaking.

 

The highest grade Glashutte watchmakers used diamond endstones on their balance wheels in place of rubies as the jeweled bearings to denote the top grade calibers. Marco used fully 58 faceted modern round brilliant cut diamonds set in a gold chaton on top of the balance wheel staff, covering up the shock protector.
A tribute if you will to past masters of Glashutte, albeit purely aesthetic, rather than functional.
