I also visited the SIHH mini-show in the early evening on the 16th for the purpose of seeing the special edition Big Pilot.
It is always a pleasure to speak with the well-trained staff at IWC who are not only well-trained and extremely familiar with the products they sell, but especially accommodating to watch collectors and appreciative of the collector's mentality.
I did enjoy very much the special edition Big Pilot (in-house movement), but I am also just as fond of the production steel Big Pilot (in-house movement), and very fond of the Top Gun Split Chronograph (customized ETA base movement). And as long as we're looking at big (46mm) watches, there are also Panerai models to be considered.
Nevertheless, it is a pleasure to have the full range of IWC watches all in one place; I find most authorized dealers have one watch but not the other while the IWC boutique has all of the aforementioned Big Pilot watches and the Top Gun on hand so you can try all of them on, while having all of your questions answered to by the expert staff.
