As you know, Panerai introduced this year at the SIHH new Luminor Due pieces including 38mm versions. I would like to get your point of view. Of course, we understand the objective from Panerai: to attract customers with smaller wrists. The slender Lumino...

Not the first time. Many years ago I had a 40mm Luminor. It was really perfect for my wrist, but it didn't feel like it was a Panerai. I got rid of it and got a 44mm-which was too big so I got rid of that and have stayed away from the brand ever since! To... 

For me, Panerai means big and bold watches and I don’t think a 38mm new model is “logical” regarding the roots of this brand. Nevertheless, profit and competition pressures, when you belong to a listed company, mean that you have to “innovate” if you want... 

The seasonality of size may impact not only profitability but survival with brands that are known for its size more than anything else. In Panerai’s case, it may not have a choice (even if it wanted to pursue being a niche operation.. even the volume ther...

the recent history of the brand has based itself on the 40mm size. The most produced models (in terms of pieces) since the take over in 1997 have been: PAM048-049-050-051. All of them 40mm in size and all of them produced in tens of thousands of pieces Wh... 

And have always thought that the 40mm luminors wore better on my wrist than the 44's as shown below. The 47mm pams and above look totally ridiculous on me. In any event I look forward to seeing this one in person as it looks kind of cool, I'm guessing its...  

One thing really bothers me, though. What is the point of having a crown guard and offering only 30-metre water resistance?

Panerai is such an interesting case study to me. In a way they are a victim of their own success, but really they are also a victim of their own inability to provide variety earlier in their history. I hear people say “it’s not Panerai DNA.” Well, what ex...  

But not for my personal taste. I have worn 44mm and 42mm. I didn’t like the 42. It was comfy but I wanted a substantial wrist presence.

I have little doubt you physical measurements play a role in these preferences, as well.

I like the way you look at the spirit and dna of Panerai ... I my self enjoy the collaboration between them and other companies angelus Rolex GP jlc, also cool that they are creating there own movements now

This is really the most minor thing for people to get upset about. I think it's great. I hope they start to actually make different looking watches that take Panerai DNA and update it or twist it or change it -- taking a necessary chance. If done well, it...

Honestly, heritage and niche market aside. I feel there's a limit as to how much u can vary if you only want to make one kind of watch. Dressier options like how the datejust and cellini is to the Rolex line would be great for Panerai. So I appreciate the...
