What is your point of view about the Luminor Due 38mm?
As you know, Panerai introduced this year at the SIHH new Luminor Due pieces including 38mm versions.
I would like to get your point of view.
Of course, we understand the objective from Panerai: to attract customers with smaller wrists. The slender Luminor Due case makes the decrease in diameter still harmonious.
Having said that, what are your comments about such offer? A good idea? Or do you think that Panerai is losing its character and its "soul" with such watches? Do you feel that the strategy of making a niche brand a more general player is relevant?
Thanks a lot!

The seasonality of size may impact not only profitability but survival with brands that are known for its size more than anything else. In Panerai’s case, it may not have a choice (even if it wanted to pursue being a niche operation.. even the volume ther...

Panerai is such an interesting case study to me. In a way they are a victim of their own success, but really they are also a victim of their own inability to provide variety earlier in their history. I hear people say “it’s not Panerai DNA.” Well, what ex...

Honestly, heritage and niche market aside. I feel there's a limit as to how much u can vary if you only want to make one kind of watch. Dressier options like how the datejust and cellini is to the Rolex line would be great for Panerai. So I appreciate the...
