Dangerous question

 

[Background: I don't like Panerai's, never have.  I've played with all sorts, and worn several, but the design never caught me, nor did the culture]

I'd make something horrible, completely mad, Zenith mad(at least not Romain Jerome mad)!  85mm Case, with lead seals and 2 pairs of lugs.  The hands would turn backwards, and there'd be some craziness with the dial, maybe black hands on black face and the 12 not at the top, but at 10:30.  It would be a "limited Edition" of 10,000 and cost 75k. 

Why, you ask?  I want to see how many people would simply accept something like this due to the brand name and the culture.  I want to know if the Panny magic transcends the actual functionality....

but then again, I'm not a very nice person

All we hear on TV in the US is " change " with the presidential race on, so I figured we might as well have a " change " thread here. If you were CEO of Panerai, what change(s) would you make? Changes could be the watches, product line, straps, buckles, l...

1. reduce the number of model 2. produce a slightly more due to #1 to maintain revenue/profit growth 3. open up more boutiques and accept unlimited wait list and in case the particular model sold out the wait can be continue to the next prefered model 4. ...

Asi B...LMAO Seriously, I would make a lot of things: 1st, I'd study the Story of the Brand, and wouldn't say that Panerai only made 300 watches from 1936 till 1997, as Panerai made aound 1500 Vintage watches, and more than 800 Pre Vendome watches. 2d, le...

flippers getting them just to sell for profit so real collectors can get hold of them....grrrrr.. Then just make Nicolas CEO as he would basically turn Panerai around while keeping the history and roots of the brand grounded..!! Andy.

so hopefully maybe Panerai can make some more models with the same colored luminova? Only thing though, is colored luminova doesn't glow as bright as plain luminova so u lose some luminosity when u mix in colors. Cheers, Anthony
