I should also add that I swapped out the accordion style rubber strap for this one. My wrist is barely large enough to handle this Sub so it was a better fit. It also comes with a matching textile strap.

When did the blob markers become so large? Too big IMO, and that unfortunately lends a cartoonish look to this one. Too bad, because as you say, a dateless Submersible is a wonderful thing!
Don't forget about the magnification qualities while diving. You don't need a bigger diameter marker to be functional. You are surely correct about the majority of watches never seeing water though!
