From an engineering standpoint I think Omega makes
perhaps the most reliable and accurate movements on the planet currently. They also provide as good or better service than any watch company in the world with Omegas production level. The market defines relative value (no different from the stock market) and the market is always right. All my watches are Omegas. I have owned other “haute” pieces that have let me down (disasters) mechanically which is why I went all Omega. I actually rely on them when I’m on my boat or jet skis. There are a few pieces (I don’t own watches to impress others…only to please myself) that I’ve had my eye on (LF & Parmigiani) but this is purely for style and like I said personal satisfaction.

Omega 250 parts maybe 40-80 man hours. High complications Patek 1000 parts at least 2000 man hours probably more. One watchmaker. Is about 2200 hr a year. Just my guess.
My point is: 39 hours watchmaker on avg for PP, not 1000 or 2000.
