I just bought the sapphire. It’s in transit.
I have plenty of sapphire watches that have never shattered and destroyed anything. That’s a lie. One of my watches did that, but that was because I was in a motorcycle accident and smashed into an SUV. The acrylic probably would not have survived that either.
I have a Patek 3970 and asked myself the same question about gazing at the movement. Then I asked how often will I go to the moon?
The thickness between the 2 is negligible.
But you sound like you want the acrylic and solid case back. Follow your heart. Buy it, wear it, love it.

Hesalite is easy to polish with polywatch. But it doesn’t look bad with a few battle scars either. Knowing they can easily be polished out any time makes them less of a big deal. Its a very liberating feeling. Also, received my 3570.50 back from Omega ser...
