Mixing hesalite with a coaxial escapement does seem anachronistic, but I learned long ago not to be too logical about these things. I like the look of the hesalite model better; I just wish they made a scratch-resistant form of the same crystal, with the same dome shape and optical effects.

I understand the charm and history of hesalite but since I don't plan on any outer space travel or putting myself in an environment where the crystal could pop off due to pressure, I think I would choose sapphire for all of its modern advantages...
