I started a fire in another forum with this dial, some people there say the MOY is off and don't want to accept it as authentic. Now, it's your turn to decide;-)...  

Why should it follow the MOY rule when it isn't a constellation?

Hi, even going by this pix only... - "Chronometre Officially Certified" is clearly printed seperately (added at a later point)from the rest of the dial (different tint of black....etc) - Font seems a bit too large compared to the rest - isn't well centere...

It looks like a cal. 352 movement in perhaps a ref. 2516 case; still looks like an original dial to me. I think though it would be better to assess it in the context of a whole dial pic, case, movement and inner caseback photos.

Yes, it is a 2516 case with 352 Rg Movement. But when Suitbert observed : "To me, most likely an original dial, altered to be a chronometer dial at a later stage" I think he's correct, too. Why ?...

HI everyone... Personally I think the dial is proper from the photos posted , just my opinion. The MOY was basically based on Connie dials... that came after the early Seamaster Chronometres. Also I do not agree with the Omega database on the 2516 with a ... 

The fonts are all correct and original, just displayed differently.

Hi, Hoipolloi, with the provided information (pictures) the largest part is guessing only. What I wrote above is only my poorly educated personal take. Personally, I believe the chronometer printing was done at a later stage - if it were done when the wat... 

I am torn between the 2 opinions - the font looks good and original to me too - I have seen so many iterations yet... But I also must agree with Suitbert about the different tint of the printing - maybe an addition of these words at time of production to ... 

i do, however, agree with Bill on this. i thought the MOY system only applied to Constellations so should not be considered here. the dial looks fine to me, but i am no expert in ref numbers etc. i think we have to go with the 'never say never' system whe...
