Where’s the blue/grey??🤔
I very much like the vintage features that Omega put into this FOIS version. However, every time I come back to it hoping to catch a glimpse of what is called a blue/grey dial, it never happens. I can see the cool sunburst effect (subtle), but no color, even in sun. I know others have said it looks black the great majority of the time, but even they could see there is indeed some subtle blue/grey. Is it just my eyes, or is it THAT hard to pick up on the other dial color?

so I understand better why it will usually look black under most conditions.👍🏽

. . . earlier this year. I could pick up the blueish tint personally, but the boutique's lighting must've washed it out of the photo. I've acquired a new Sony mirrorless since taking this photo, will try again when I visit the boutique in the near future....
One of my favorite Speedmasters. I've considered getting one yet was unaware of the subtleties of the dial's color. Hodinkee's write up cover's that well with some good images where
some blue-gray tones can be seen well when at the right angle and sunlight is involved. I agree with Nico, 2nd image capture's it. Now I want one even more!
Agreed, the various write ups showcased this better.
In part it’s my eyes, and in reality it is a subtle color difference. Of course, the beauty of this piece is not limited to this subtle dial difference. It has a distinct character from my other Speedmasters.

I think it’s more a blueish grey than a blue. I love the whole concept and am thinking about picking one up. I don’t adore the fauxtina but can live with it in respecting what omega have chosen and are attempting to deliver. I have tried it on a few times...
The fauxtina is fine, and distinguishes it from my other pieces/Speedmasters.
It does wear smaller, which again I take as being in line with older, classic watches. Some have commented on the readability, but this hasn’t been an issue so far, although I might have to look a bit longer to discern between the minute markers. The most...

Just to provide another update on readability…
pictures are misleading, because whenever I look down at the dial, the hands are immediately and highly visible due to the shine of the high-sheen silver hands that strongly contrast against the dial.👍🏽

How did you do that…you removed the dial and put it into a Pro case? Isn’t the Pro case a little bigger than the FOIS case?

I know that the FOIS has select features in keeping with the original, such as the straight lug case, but your “modernized” version as well as the use of Hesalite is very impressive.
So nice. I think the Hesalite creates a very nice effect compared to sapphire, just as I’ve noticed with my Panerai.
Hesalite would have been great on this new FOIS.
