Can't really see how the two pictured can be compared... They're both amazing watches but one is obviously far more expensive and with an added feature that adds substantially to the movement. Having said that, based on pure aesthetics I'd take the blue 5270G but under any other consideration I'd take the split or even preferably, as mentioned by @patekova, a 5004 + a 5970

5204 10/10 Times
If those were my only choices. I have been hearing bad feedback from AD on the new 5270 Dial. I love the blue but the pregnant tach at 6 is armature.

I think most people that choose blue 5270 love the color, while 5204 maybe for "long term value"? Maybe if they made a blue 5204, then everyone will choose that one...=D

How about 5004P AND 5970G?
I realize my post is not exactly responsive to your interesting question, but personally I prefer 5004P to 5204P and I prefer 5970G to 5270G. The combined price of a pre-owned 5004P AND 5970G is not too far off the price of a 5204P. Best, patekova

AD availability
Eventually the new model blue dial 5270G will make it to a lot of ADs. However it is going to be rare to see a 5204P at an AD display, unless someone cancelled on an order as it is a true application piece. If money was not an issue, the 5204P for sure. B...
