I was on the website yesterday as I’m looking to purchase one. Today it is listed as discontinued Has anyone heard of a defect or other reason a relatively new model(2021) would be discontinued? ...  

Both colors are discontinued. I was going to buy the salmon version. I’m sure something will replace it

I wonder if trouble with the in line display? I really like this ref. The design is pleasing. I think the case shape and large movement work well here , too.

I tried it on at a Patek Boutique. I really like the in line design. The size is large but fit my wrist well. I was worried it may be too big but it looked great. I still want it but now I’m concerned since it was such a short run that there may be an und... 

It might be larger than 3940, but at 41mm personally I wouldn’t call it large. It’s a perfect size for me 😀

I’m glad to hear that you like it still. I had a 5147 that was stolen recently, it was 38mm. And a great watch, but I kind of like the slightly larger 5236

A smoked sapphire dial would be cool

It’s really beautiful in person very sophisticated for a large watch. My thinking is maybe they found a way to make it under 40mm and thusly would require a new part number, otherwise, the reviews all along is that ir]t has been a fantastic watch

Last year I tried it at the Patek Salon in Rome, since I had fell in love with it looking at the pics. It was a bittersweet experience. The watch itself is fantastic, but it is quite large and heavy on my wrist. And I did not pull the trigger. It seems th...  

I do prefer a little extra weight on the watch, I maybe unique in that but it feels really substantial

...and have worn one that belongs to a friend. Resale is not great. I wish Patek would concentrate on making their complicated watches slimmer...

A friend just picked up a 23 blue dial for under 100K usd. Like new condition. It’s a very beautiful watch.

So it is really just the usual Patek game, even though with rather short cycles…

I love the watch but …..

They’ve also managed to squeeze in the moonphase as well as having rhe day/date/month in windows - way easier on the old eyes to read!

Really easy to read and that is my number one concern for another watch purchase

The calendar in window approach is much more user friendly that’s for sure.

I like the look of the 5327 but there is so much going to figure out the date

Sometimes though I just look at these as small pieces of art to admire - sure they are functional perpetuals but it’s the overall aesthetic that counts. I have a grey dial boutique JLC MUT perpetual which is absolutely unreadable - but I love the dauphine...

But if you click on the link for the model it says discontinued where there was a price the day before. Or at least that’s how it was yesterday. I was in a Patek boutique and we looked on like. The price drop for the other models (8% should have happened ... 

I was in the Patek boutique yesterday when we were looking it up It said both colors were discontinued Now the new 8% lower price is there It must have been a mistake. The people at the boutique were as befuddled as I was

Yesterday when I saw people post about the discontinuations, I went to patek.com and some of the pages I tried to visit gave me error messages. The watch-finder link in the top right corner being one I remember having an error. Also, some of the unlisted ... 

Several were removed yesterday but are back today .. including the purple dial Twenty 4’s …. Someone probably got a bit over enthusiastic when updating the website 😂

Perhaps at some point they will move to a gold version(s), like they did with 5960 and 5496 which both started out only in platinum.

I guess they will keep them on their website (with increased prices) until W&W.
