First, I'm a Nautilus guy. So pinch of salt required. Many of us have long speculated on the eventual introduction of a Nautilus PC. I suspect many of my fellow collectors will tip the hat at its arrival, and with this introduction opinions will differ ac...  

But no WG for me. With time the metal is turning towards dirty yellow and steel would have been much more scratch resistant. Titanium would have been a super solution. Best, Kari

I have a few initial thoughts on this release. With regards to the metal chosen I think it is as you very finely put it, quite suitable. I can see how steel would have been desirable but this is as you say a grande dame. On a sidenote I would have wished ... 

I'd have to sell a kidney and maybe live in a camper van for this tho'!!! On a serious note, for its size of 40 and thickness of 8.42mm, this 5740 packs a punch! So here's hoping that PP will have a steel version...

Imo 5740G best Nautilus ever made and I own quite a few of them. Perfect size and thickness, unique shade of blue dial that changes shades considerably depending on the light. White gold adds a touch of luxury, heft and warmth that steel does not offer. A...  

…and I’ve worn it. It is still very heavy in G. I’d like exactly the same watch in stainless steel. Lighter and scratch-resistant. It would be ideal for me. Platinum would be an anchor.

For me, steel is the perfect material for the 5711 and white gold is the perfect choice for the 5740. 6 years ago, 5980 said it very well when he described the 5740 as the Grande Dame of the Nautilus line. To do it in steel would have been to take away so...
