Great post on the 5740G
Imo 5740G best Nautilus ever made and I own quite a few of them. Perfect size and thickness, unique shade of blue dial that changes shades considerably depending on the light. White gold adds a touch of luxury, heft and warmth that steel does not offer. A few photos comparing it to my 5980, no comparison imo... I find the stainless almost too white and too bright now. In person there is a huge difference between white gold and stainless. My 5740G is a 2024 model which has the micro adjustments on the bracelet which is great feature as well.

I have a few initial thoughts on this release. With regards to the metal chosen I think it is as you very finely put it, quite suitable. I can see how steel would have been desirable but this is as you say a grande dame. On a sidenote I would have wished ...
Love it!!!

I'd have to sell a kidney and maybe live in a camper van for this tho'!!! On a serious note, for its size of 40 and thickness of 8.42mm, this 5740 packs a punch! So here's hoping that PP will have a steel version...
The symmetry is lovely

And while I like the warmth of WG I would prefer SS, PT or Ti for their hypoallergenic qualities, especially in hot and humid weather. Personally I would always go special order independent for this kind of money, a bit like clothing and many other fine t...
