you simply don't feel it! Audemars Piguet's reference 25643 also has a backwind crown: check here .

I was trying to classify the 3585 model into a model family but realize it was not easy. Is Golden Ellipse correct.

but I find the link with the Ellipse family really loose...

and for emphasizing the beauty of the bezel, which your pictures show wonderfully. Jon Bues has written an interesting article for Hodinkee on the caliber 350, which seems to have been the first ever peripherally winding movement. So the 3585 is really a ...

Do you know how this effect is produced? From the tropical dial, it looks like the dial (material?) is scratched (?) and then lacquered. Is that it? This is my supposition as the lacquer seems to detach itself from the dial material. Thanks! Best, E.
