An impressive piece
For me about the only production watch I would like. If I had one request it would be flip the moonphase to the top like the old days and the 5004. At the price point I would probably chase a 5970 over this or a 5370p black but it’s a hell of a watch.

Not bad...
but a little too sporty for me. Good to see that the little chin is gone in this version. My favourite is the black dial, 5204P-011, one of my grail.

A very impressive watch indeed. That said, in my opinion fabric straps tend to suit sportier watches better, even if straps are easily changed. I also feel that Patek may be leaning a bit too heavily on them across the current collection.
I completely agree with you.
But they're trying to speak to a younger clientele which is looking for a more sporty and "agressive" look. Reason why I personally prefer the classic releases: the new 5396 or the olive Ellipse. Best, Emmanuel

While I am not particularly a fan of the 5204 and while I am not a “younger clientele”, I absolutely love the colors of the dial, hands and strap.
If I were in the market for a 5204 this is the one I would happily buy and wear.

Personally I would prefer green.
But I do love how sporty the blue and red make the latest release. 5004 is still best for me.
I’ve never tried on a 5004, only a 5204.

It’s a killer. I tried at analog shift in Vegas a number of years ago.
It was crazy price then. Even more so now.

They got rid of the chin but alas the price is way too high. I couldn't afford this one 😯
This is the nicest 5204 in my opinion
The tachymeter improved the aesthetics eg the hr indices from 10-2 isn’t awkwardly long now Chrono secs and mins are now Color matched Date fonts resized to be consistent with 27 and 5 and the leap year and day nite indicators moved to the subdials.. and ...
The next iteration will be perfect!

I definitely understand the appeal of this
version of the 5204. But it’s not my personal aesthetic and I prefer the 5370, whether in platinum (or even rose gold). Best, Emmanuel
