Apologies if I ruffled some feathers...
I apologize if I offended anyone on this forum by implying that there are nefarious intentions in posting those "sealed" ref 5650Gs. I am certainly frustrated at seeing so many sealed Patek watches and plenty of SHOW but no TELLS... I am surprised limited edition pieces are leaving the ADs "sealed"... In the past, very few if any Patek watches ever were posted(in pictures) with the original sealed boxes. I am sure a lot of forum users can concur that these few years have seen a plethora of "buyers" with SEALED watches that are posted to this and other Patek forums. As with any collection, there are always "investors" that come in and pretend to COLLECT (Patek timepieces) when in fact they are purchasing for a quick ROI(Return on Investment). It is just frustrating to know that Patek releases these watches and some true collectors who want to enjoy these pieces cannot; instead, the watches are allocated or sold to these "investors" that are out there to make a quick buck or two... This is not only occurring at your local ADs...I saw an auction for a 5131J that was sold by Tiffany and Co. in March 3, 2015 and sold by Christie's on Dec 6, 2016.
This one is a real bitch to photograph.

Allowing for the pre production of future product sooner. Clearly these 5650 watches were produced and packaged early, but how early? If demand for Pateks in the last year was strong and output was at capacity I doubt these pieces would be available so so...

Hi Kari or anyone else Who ever had the privilege of viewing these two watches can u confirm if the blue straps and blue on the dials is the same or are they different between the two watches ? Iqbal
I didn't put them side by side but it seemed to me they were the same.
Because of the 5168G's cleaner dial, this one maybe looks a little lighter but I think it is the same color. It definitely works very well in blue, especially with the white gold's light and color compared to steel. I hope this helps. Best, Mark

I happen to know that Patek's instructions to their Salons and AD is not to sell the watches unopened. Furthermore, the AD are not allowed to give the packing to the clients. These carbon boxes are just packaging for shipping. The whole "double sealed" is...

PPs are not distributed to the market at large. Authorised dealer means something, and with it comes a responsibility. If PP wanted to stamp this out, a "3 strikes" policy would do it - 3 watches found in the wild "double sealed" and you lose your AD stat...
