Not sure how that would be? This is a limited edition of 500 that has been in the planning for years. The last AR watch was several years ago. Seems plausible to me that they have the 500 produced already as it's not an ongoing production. For a limited e...

Allowing for the pre production of future product sooner. Clearly these 5650 watches were produced and packaged early, but how early? If demand for Pateks in the last year was strong and output was at capacity I doubt these pieces would be available so so... 

...the producer knows exactly how many will be produced ( a defined limited edition of 500) and exactly when sales will be made (Basel+.....and demand for this one is apparently 5-10 times greater than supply), I think excess capacity is most unlikely. Li...

Because of the 5168G's cleaner dial, this one maybe looks a little lighter but I think it is the same color. It definitely works very well in blue, especially with the white gold's light and color compared to steel. I hope this helps. Best, Mark

I apologize if I offended anyone on this forum by implying that there are nefarious intentions in posting those "sealed" ref 5650Gs. I am certainly frustrated at seeing so many sealed Patek watches and plenty of SHOW but no TELLS... I am surprised limited... 

I happen to know that Patek's instructions to their Salons and AD is not to sell the watches unopened. Furthermore, the AD are not allowed to give the packing to the clients. These carbon boxes are just packaging for shipping. The whole "double sealed" is...

I think it is for good. In fact, at first, the watches should never have been sold in their burgundy travel box from Patek Philippe's policy. Some retailers created the problem and people looking for reselling with a profit (without wearing the watch) app... 

PP certainly is attempting to be proactive in addressing the problem. Unfortunately, it's not an easy challenge to overcome...

It is refreshing that someone at Patek finally woke up to the fact that these pictures of the "brown" boxed limited edition Pateks are all over secondary grey markets. I concur with Mark that this issue hits harder on those limited edition pieces where av... 

However, the rules have been the same for a longer time: boxes and plastic bags must be opened. Think about corruption: it's prohibited everywhere and still it's common in big part of the world... I am sure that Pated is very serious with this issue but t...

Whether the watch is in the travel box or sold opened won't change really the allocation process and the client they will sell it to. It just changes the small premium that was added to the price. If the client buys for investing he will still get it and ... 

PPs are not distributed to the market at large. Authorised dealer means something, and with it comes a responsibility. If PP wanted to stamp this out, a "3 strikes" policy would do it - 3 watches found in the wild "double sealed" and you lose your AD stat... 

But at the moment the manufacturers are having bigger issues to tackle. Best, Kari
