I really enjoy seeing the variety of lugs and bezel profiles across these references — it’s a reminder of how much personality Patek could pack into a restrained Calatrava design. The 3558g’s bold hands are such a nice contrast to the more classic look of the 3445g, and your 3998g has that perfect balance of elegance and everyday wearability. I also think the bracelet integration on the 3514g is a sleeper detail — not “purist,” maybe, but undeniably charming.

Calatravas with date functions are not very popular with purist Patek collectors, but perhaps because of their smaller size, I like these (neo)vintage models.
These are all WG models. From left to right, they are 3998g, 3445g, 3558g, and 3514g. Only the 3998 is hand-wound, while the other three models are equipped with the famous automatic movement 27-460. 3998g equipped with the manual-winding movement 310SC. ...

Yes, a lot of collectors don't like date on the dial. But, the manufacturers respond to market demand. The average client wants; automatic, date, and some basic water-resistance.

Really nice Pateks! My issue would be when servicing, and possibly in need of parts, do collectors take these type vintages to a qualified watchmaker who don’t have access to Patek parts or do you pay up for authorized servicing? Thanks.
In my case, I first take it to a local watch repair shop. He repairs watches that come through pawn shops, and I'm very grateful to have someone like him nearby.
If he can't handle it, and when he advised me that he could do this myself, but that I should take it to the manufacturer just to be sure, I ask Patek Philippe to repair it through an agent. It's quite expensive, and At that time, I was surprised at how e...
