A very thought provoking question indeed. But a very nice watch! Always loved the Patek 5000 and 6000. The 6000 is among my favorite Calatravas.

Hi, Honestly the round watch with a date pointer is a very old and classic design, definitely not an Oris creation, and probably not a PP creation either! These one are not the original chicken, neither the original egg! Cheers Dje
JLC Master Moon also have that date...
... and it was produced back in the end of the 90s/early 00s. But these 2 that you've posted do resemble each other to a larger degree, not just the date, but also the rail-like circle inside the dial and the arabic numerals. Hmmm.... thought provoking......

Sub-seconds placement
To me, it looks like the sub-seconds on the RD is closer to the bottom, or simply a larger subseconds. Either way, I think it's different. That's not to say that PP/Stern didn't make it though...
