Evocative of VC on the dial side.
The hobnail isn’t for me, but that is a matter of personal taste. I wonder if the larger diameter will further exacerbate the thin dinner plate feeling of the 5196 with this enlarged case size. At least on my wrist, the thickness needs to increase slightly as the diameter increases to avoid the look of a saucer on the wrist.
In terms of design and innovation, the AP Code 11.59 appears more interesting even though I haven’t handled those in person either.
Tough path for Patek. They want to charge a lot, not be held to any external standards, appear fresh and not lose the link to their heritage. Contradictory pulls that produce a watch like this Calatrava.

5236P is a stunner.
I like this case shape anyway (3448, 5235 etc.), it’s pure class. The dial is very beautiful and legible. The only downside for me is the case diameter; would have preferred between 39 and 40 mm. Best, V.

But as someone whose eyesight is not great
I find window display better than dial..especially date...even I can remember the month so use the date more frequently...the movement also looks nicely finished

Apart from the same material 4947/1A is not really a sport watch, although steel+bracelet makes it a lot more versatile.

I think there are two VC cases - the 38mm traditionelle vs the 42mm "disc shaped" case
The VC 38mm is the model which seems to be more similar to the 6119. There is a nice write up on the VC on H.com which compares it to the FPJ CB and the Lange which gives a decent look at the case. Also the 38mm is 7.77mm thick with a similar PR, railroad...
As shared, 38mm and what the 6119 looks like is the traditionelle...
Traditionelle - very similar to 6119, and not necessarily a disc like case IMHO. Patrimony - more disc like as you mentioned...but not similar to the 6119 ...

Though the subdial is different. Still, I think it takes elements from the VC and gloms a hobnail bezel onto it. Not particularly harmonious, I feel.

Huge fan of the VC 82172 here, whose hands (and bezel) I vastly prefer. The Calatrava case and the movement are quite beautiful, though. Cheers Marc

Evolutionary innovation but stunning!
On first glance - the 6119 looks very much like the 2013 Vacheron Constantin Traditionelle Small Seconds, but adds a nice hobnail bezel. I have been eyeing some of these in the past in a grey variant, so to see it similarly configured in PP is interesting...

The handset on the 6119 is less attractive IMO. I like the dauphine style (I think that is it) on the VC and think that's a better fit with the rest of the dial furniture. Otherwise I think the 6119 is a slam dunk. The hobnailing probably looks great in p...
5236 date seems awkward to me, especially the extra gap between the two day digits.
I wonder if they tried sapphire disks or frames to produce a more unified linear triple date. I would assume they tried everything, but the outcome isn't totally satisfying.

Thanks for commenting, I got to love the hobnail bezel more since it ended up in the 5177 line 3 years ago (even though I haven't seen this reference again since then!), but it's indeed subjective territory...

That's my verdict on the 5236P and the 6119G and R. Yes they have beautiful movements but the perpetual calendar should be no more than 39mm rather than 41.3mm. As for the 6119, it is refreshing to see a movement other than a 215 or 240 or 324 being used ...
