I’m sure you already noticed most yellow gold references are the least appreciated except some advertising that 5970J is actually the rarest of the 4 metals.
What looks best is when you wear it on your wrist and you like it and not for someone to say, “wow, that’s rare, nice how did you get it and blah blah”

Yes, R is easy to love.
But J is elusive. I can't think of any model range where Patek enthusiasts nearly universally regard the J as the best choice of the range.

Yes, the 5070 looks great in J - as it does in any metal. The 5110 however, is an obtainable and interesting choice that does look very appealing in yellow.

It’s a beauty but 5131/1P is a different level.
I never thought that I would say this since, as you know, I got 5231J before 5131/1P and I was deeply in love with 5231J (and I still am). But 5131/1P is such a stunning overall package (except for the clasp 😂).
While waiting for the release of a blue dial 5711/1J (you listening Thierry?) my vote goes to 5231J ...
