impressive snd meaningful to me than the actual watches is the deep friendship and family type bonds that grew from this passion. When collecting something for which one has an extreme passion, the friendships that flow therefrom can actually become far more important in one’s life than the mere objects. Those friendships, associations and feelings of being part of a “family” add great meaning to one’s life and can actually make one appreciate the objects even more. So to have that relationship with the legendary Philippe Stern is as the saying goes about “as good as it gets”.
I do want to ask cbb, are there other brands that her father collected passionately, and if she doesn’t mind my asking - which ones and did her father have similar friendships with the heads of those brands?

cbb's brother Khun Nick was sadly only in his early 60s :-( Since he is the eldest, he knew more about
his father's journey and was so generously in sharing his family's horological history with me on a video call even though he and I had not met previously.
Tragic.

My dad had Vacheron, FP Journe, Lange & Sohn, Ulysse Nardin, Haldiman and Franck Muller, etc. He knew Franck and FP quite well.
