I agree, i dont really get that excited by the modern Pateks in steel
I had a 5565 and found it quite boring actually. The 5170J and 5170G first version both had silver dials, but different. The 5170G new version has the black dial, but I think in rose gold black dial would be fantastic (slightly different black dial, perhaps index markers instead of breguets). The 5205 and 5960 rose gold black dial are amongst the best looking modern Pateks. Also, it would distinguish itself from the 5070R which has the smoky lighter colored dial. One can hope!

I can't see a diver's watch
The pilots (or is it co-pilot?) watch I think suits Patek well, with the sense of glamour and sophistication that accompanies the pilot image. I\'m not sure a divers watch fits the same image - a diver would need a true tool watch.

Good for short term business but I would say that more important is
what impression, what mark it leaves on the brand. This can lead to a bad final result on the long term.

Last year it was the 5131R, 5370P, 5950/1A black dial, and 6102R. The question becomes, do they make 3-4 pieces that I want to buy and realistically can buy without spending a 7 figure USD sum!
