The Tachymeter scale is more popular on dials from what I can see in the watch market. I guess that for the little use of these scales it is really a matter of taste 
I think it is good to have also a bigger case offer because I noticed that many forumners are really asking for one, whether it is because of different cultural tastes or because of a big wrist size. However, I must say I would be glad to see the 5170 and followings keeping that <40mm dimension.
As we still have the R and P versions to discover I think it is not for tomorrow.
I personnally love the 5170G's silver dial: very well balanced and I like scales.
But I see many here prefering simple scales or none and this is perfectly understandable too, thus better to have the choice in the line-up.

I can't see a diver's watch
The pilots (or is it co-pilot?) watch I think suits Patek well, with the sense of glamour and sophistication that accompanies the pilot image. I\'m not sure a divers watch fits the same image - a diver would need a true tool watch.

Good for short term business but I would say that more important is
what impression, what mark it leaves on the brand. This can lead to a bad final result on the long term.

Last year it was the 5131R, 5370P, 5950/1A black dial, and 6102R. The question becomes, do they make 3-4 pieces that I want to buy and realistically can buy without spending a 7 figure USD sum!
