I am only a lurker here.....

although one who has been around a long time.

When I started my PP collection a couple of years ago, I relied heavily on this forum to help me learn about the brand and formulate my selections. I scoured every message for any tidbit of information that would help me make my watch buying decisions easier. That being said, I do consider future value to be on the radar in so far as my purchases are concerned. I think that there are many factors that every collector considers and certainly price and lasting value is on the list. Of course, our likes and aesthetics will always be the most important considerations but I think that it would be unrealistic to think that prices don't figure in. In my quest for information, I have found that "other" forums are too restrictive in their policies regarding this topic and I feel this site is very well balanced in this regard.

I would say unequivocally that this forum (and others here) helped educate me on all my acquistions and I did learn very valuable lessons about price, AD habits and other important issues on the process of buying fine time pieces.

Since this is one of my first posts, it is probably long overdue for me to thank SuitbertW and all the regular contributors to this forum. As an observer, I have a profound respect for everyone here and appreciate how much I have learned.

To SuitbertW: I must take exception to the part of this thread where you say, "I've not looked after the forum as much as I'd have liked, etc." -- I think you are an excellent moderator who does an outstanding job!
